WIF-PDX is dedicated to supporting women in film and media, our membership is diverse and consists of both men and women, as well professionals and students. As an organization focused on professional development, the majority of our membership consists of professionals working in film and media.

We regularly partner with festivals such as POWFest, NW Filmmakers Festival, and the Portland Film Festival, and organizations such as NW Film Center, Open Signal, NW Documentary and the National Association of Women in Film.

Annual  Programming 

Monthly Women in Film Movie-night & Drinks.
Women in Film is meeting once a month to support the work of women filmmakers. We meet at the theater, watch the movie and after that go out for drinks at a bar close by. This monthly meet up is a good way to catch new works, discuss its content and connect with other professionals that work in film, television and media in a fun a relaxed way. Bi-monthly “Meet-ups”.
Every two months Women in Film creates networking and educational events where members connect with area professionals, learn the latest trends in film and video and grow professionally through our discussions with industry leaders and speakers. WIF provides wine and snacks and an opportunity to network following the programing. Bring your questions and your business cards!

Oregon Doc Camp.

September Screening.
Every September Women in Film celebrates the talent of our local female filmmakers creating a night of WIF Members Showcase Screening. The event starts with an opening reception and continues with screenings and a director Q&A discussion to follow. Submissions must be from active members and 7 minutes or less. Entries can be a clip, a work in progress, a finished piece, a doc. It can be narrative, experimental, animated… whatever you’re pouring your heart into!

Women in Film Holiday Party.
In November Women in Films starts the holiday season with a party for its members with music, appetizers, drinks plus a silent auction. Our largest event of the year! It’s your chance to network with the entire WIF PDX community, celebrate achievements together as an organization, and announce our newly elected board of directors.
